"I felt so welcomed, ready for transformation, and felt the wavelength of being at the edge of transformation. I felt the communion of everyone else wanting to explore and dig deeper into healing."

"I love sharing space with you! I always learn something new from you. The Ceremonia was just what I needed to feel ready to take on everything ahead. I was feeling nervous to start teaching at MOLAA this week, but being in sacred space with all of you gave me strength to vocalize and let go of what was circulating in my mind/holding myself back."

You provided a loving reflection and hold space in such a meaningful way. I felt a deep connection on Friday. I am not someone who has access to people around her speaking like this about spiritual practices, especially practices that many of our ancestors took part in. What spoke to me was the fact that you encouraged this to be a spiritual practice, one where we tend to ourselves and our ancestors. Altares to me is about carving a piece of your space to honor yourself. It was beautiful how you have made it your own and in turn inspired me to make it my own. I resonated with the elements and the support that altares and community brings to our lives.

I’m so incredibly grateful to you and your guidance through this last year. Your multi-disciplinary and multi-pronged strategy to healing inspired and awakened so many parts of me that were yearning to burst through but just needed some tending to. Thank you for holding the door open as I prepared to walk through. Thank the ancestors that we crossed paths! You helped me through so much and reminded me of my power. I am so excited for your practice to grow!

Today I had to remind myself of everything it took to get here. To recognize my worth and the value I bring to those in search of healing. My platica with @mariposaancestralpractices came in divine timing and was a reminder to stand firm in my power. The take away: Don’t let others negotiate your worth. You are not less worthy simply because others don’t recognize, acknowledge, or understand what you bring to the table.

What inspired you to work with me?
"The drastic changes that came with the pandemic and this country’s racial reckoning led me to a low point in my mental, emotional, and physical health. Since I started working from home and had a new insurance through my work, I had more time and finally decided to look for a queer-friendly person of color therapist. I looked at the Latinx Therapy directory and National Queer & Trans Therapists of Color Collective. I emailed a few people, with little luck as they did not accept my insurance. I finally found you, a queer-friendly woman of color therapist that accepted my insurance and provided me with the tough love that I needed to start advocating for myself and setting boundaries."

How were you before you worked with me?
"I found myself becoming increasingly angry, frustrated, and triggered by small daily tasks such as cleaning the house, cooking dinner, and washing dishes. I started lashing out at my animals and my partner, yelling or breaking down in tears. I was at my heaviest weight in September and was not taking care of my mental and emotional well being. I would say I need to eat healthier or go on a walk, but did not keep my word to myself and allowed for my supervisor to dictate how I was feeling and when I did (or didn’t) take my breaks. I also continued to carry the weight of traumatic events from college and stay unresolved about my gender and sexual identities."

How were you after you worked with me?
"I communicate more openly about how I am feeling with my partner and do not respond to every situation with a high stress response. I understand that not all tasks are urgent and can let go if a task is incomplete or imperfect. When I feel stressed, scared, or anxious, I have the knowledge and skillset to manage my mind and find an activity that will bring me balance again, whether that is yoga, meditation, going for a walk, or talking to a friend. I take my 10-minute breaks and lunch every day and am comfortable pushing back against the false sense of urgency my supervisor and department creates for themselves. I understand my value and can advocate for myself, taking risks and being okay regardless of the outcome. I am in the best shape of my life and recognize that consistency is greater than perfection. For example, I no longer have a defeatist mentality if my weight fluctuates or I do not work out as many times as I said I would. I wake up the next day and keep going. I have find a newfound sense of purpose in my career and have the courage, vulnerability, and capacity to start my own life coaching business and join volunteer university boards where I can serve as a leader and a mentor."

What would you say to someone who is on the edge of deciding whether or not to work with me?
"Working with Michelle truly saved and changed my life for the better. Learning to advocate for myself and keep my word to myself is a priceless gift, and Michelle guides you with such love, courage, and vulnerability. She is a fierce advocate for you and teaches you how to do the same for yourself. Her clear cut guidance and tools allow you to gradually move to a place of greater confidence and well-being where managing your mind becomes easier and a part of your daily routine. Having Michelle as my therapist led to a transformation of my body, mind, and soul that I am incredibly grateful for."
